Knowledge
Hi, I’m Catherine, and through my experience as a family caregiver, I want to help you by sharing my knowledge and experience of caring at home for a family member with dementia. I supported and cared for my mother for over a decade, from diagnosis until she sadly but peacefully passed away at home in October 2020. I have extensive hands-on knowledge of caring at home, from seeking and receiving a diagnosis to living and caring well at home with dementia.
Information
As a graduate in dementia studies and avid researcher, I dig up and share everything from the latest dementia research and innovative practices to insightful articles, fascinating stories, and much more – information normally only readily available to those “in the know”. I publish the best of this in my newsletters. Receive my newsletters straight into your inbox by clicking here.
Support
My passion is to enable people with dementia to continue to live meaningful and active lives for as long as possible while empowering family carers in their supporting role. My purpose is to come together online, forming a community of those affected by dementia at home. My aim is to challenge the negative stigma surrounding dementia while offering advice and support to other family carers.
I’m Here to Help Take the Fear Away
Receiving a diagnosis of dementia can be frightening. However, the future need not seem quite so daunting when you have answers available to the many questions that flood your mind.
I share practical information on how to move forward in a positive way – knowledge that I only wish I had when we first started out on our path together. By sharing this with you, I hope that you can learn from my experience and avoid many of the pitfalls we encountered along the way.
